Why are we NOT surprised?
Well, they just can’t fucking help themselves, can they?
Once again Wargaming go beyond stretching the truth into outright lie. Now, nobody I know has attended a GenCon in a while because it’s almost exclusively about board, card and roll playing games more than anything else.
So why the flying fuck would Wargaming even bother? They canned their card game, so there’s no reason to go for that.
But regardless, they’ve been spamming shit all over about “We’re going to GenCon 50!” and “Meet us at GenCon 50!”
The thing that got me wondering what the flying hell was actually going on was looking at their announcement of the event. Here it is (Link to Original Announcement):

FAQs:
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Every event is open to players of all ages (that includes kids and families). 21+ is required for alcoholic beverages.
Where will you be located? Our tent is located on Georgia Street, outside of the Indianapolis Convention Center.
What do I need to bring? Bring your Eventbrite ticket along with a photo ID in order to get your vouchers.
Do I need a Gen Con pass to attend? No, our event is open to our players who can come visit us on Georgia Street and a Gen Con pass is not required.
Now, what got me about that was the two announcements that you didn’t need a GenCon pass to attend. I asked myself, “How the fuck are they ‘Going to GenCon’ and I don’t need a pass to attend? I was wondering about that for a week. I mean, you can’t be a part of GenCon if you’re not licensed by GenCon. That’s like saying, “I’m going to the movies! Come join me for free!” but I don’t even buy any movie tickets.
What the fuck is up with that?!
And then they post on Facebook late yesterday that “That’s a rap on GenCon 50!” like it was the big, stunning success of the ages attended by thousands and it was all good.

Here are the facts:
Wargaming wasn’t AT GenCon. They were outside, down the street in a tent because their cheap asses couldn’t afford to buy a spot inside in the actual convention.
They literally drove up, found a spot outside, pitched a tent and mooched off of the people walking by that paid to go to GenCon as best they could.
Since Wargaming didn’t pay GenCon a dime, they literally STOLE from GenCon like fucking leeches. In fact, that’s EXACTLY what they did!
Yet another in a long, long line of underhanded, cheap bullshit.
Not that it’ll be up long, but we called them on it:
Fucking bunch of god damned lying, leeching, cheap-assed pricks!
Wow. I knew they had cut their budget to the bone, but that’s just awful. They didn’t even attend the actual gaming convention because they had nothing to show, or so they said.
Maybe it was that they simply couldn’t afford it.
My, how the mighty have fallen. Now they’re resorting to scalping tickets outside the venue for money. What an embarrassment.
