Well folks, this article is going to be largely based off of PC Gamer’s article that they just posted last night. All credit to them for all quotes used from that article. It’s all about the gaming communities coming together to fight toxicity and it’s called the Fair Play Alliance.
Now, let’s start the ball rolling with the opening two paragraphs of that article:
It’s no secret that online games like Overwatch, League of Legends, and many others suffer from toxic communities. From raging over sub-optimal team compositions or under-performing teammates to slinging insults steeped in racism, sexism, and homophobia, it’s a problem that has plagued gaming pretty much as long as we’ve been connecting our computers to play with and against each other online.
Now, more than 30 major gaming companies, including Blizzard, Riot, CCP, Twitch, Discord and Epic are teaming up to tackle the problem collectively through an organization called the Fair Play Alliance. The hope is that by sharing research, lessons learned, and best practices, the companies will be able to develop a better understanding of why toxicity happens, how to deal with toxic players, and most of all, how to stop toxicity from happening in the first place.
OK. Sign my ass up. I’m all in.
Now, we all know that the same bullshit that happens in World of Tanks happens elsewhere, but frankly I’ve never seen it anywhere NEAR the levels that I have on World of Tanks. Ever.
It seems though that some gaming companies are taking it VERY fucking seriously. Now, of note here is that these companies have actually been fighting the problem all along while Wargaming to date has done NOT ONE SINGLE GOD DAMNED THING.
What they’re going to no doubt do is compare notes on who is doing what and get to work getting rid of those people permanently.
Again, I’m all in. Sign my ass up.

Why am I not the least bit fucking surprised? Those fucking assholes wouldn’t do anything to stop toxicity if we paid them…which we do. They actually love it. I think it’s their number one marketing strategy:

It’s no wonder why the game continues to spiral completely out of control into the toilet with each passing day. Even the most major patch in years that “improved” the graphics a bit can’t save it. The new 1.0 patch was, almost literally, putting a silk hat on a pig…and a fucking dead pig at that.
Add to that Wargaming’s continued blind eye to it’s toxic player base problem and stat whoring and you have a recipe for epic failure, which is exactly what the game is doing as I type this.
And it doesn’t help when everywhere you look Wargaming are being out done by everybody at everything.
War Thunder released it’s graphics update before Wargaming did. And it’s better. And they introduced new vehicles as well. And other stuff.
Wargaming did fuck all. In fact, they have nothing but lag problems, freezes and complaints about the “new”, old, redone-for-the-thousandth-time shit maps that have been made, incredibly, even more shitty than they were before.
It just never ends with Wargaming. It’s failure after failure after don’t give a flying fuck failure.
But lets take something positive out of all of this: A large portion of the gaming community are forming up and working together to tackle toxicity online. That’s a good thing. In fact, it’s about the best news I’ve heard from the gaming industry in years.
Of course, being the best thing I’ve heard from the gaming industry in years, it’s no surprise at all that Wargaming has absolutely nothing at all to do with it.

No surprise there at all. It seems Wargaming actually thrives on toxicity. I honestly think they think it makes them popular. I don’t think they even begin to suspect that all the racism, toxicity, blatant Nazism and more have anything at all to do with their failure in North America.
I did exactly the same thing when I saw the article – went to the list and lo, and behold (no surprise though) wg isn’t there.
Sometimes the loudest sound in the room is silence. And this list with the absence of Wargamings name on it speaks volumes.
This would make an excellent post on the NA forum, question is how long would it last before the shills show up, and then it would be vaporized from the face of the earth?

But it is interesting, I always felt dirty after playing World of Tanks, and still do, but I gave up on that shit festival almost five years ago. Still like to jump into World of Warships, but mostly in Co-op, as the camping meta in Random doesn’t appeal to me. I want to charge guns blazing.
Never felt dirty playing Blizzard titles. Mostly.
Would anyone mind if I took a truncated version of this article and put it on the WoT NA forum? If not, or if someone else is going to or already has, no worries…

Just checked…Wargaming.net joined. The fact that they were even allowed to join tells me the organization will accomplish nothing.
I guess they caught so much shit over it they had no choice. It’s laughable though that they join it and to date have not done a single solitary thing to get rid of the toxic assholes in that shit game of theirs.
With WG employees trolling their own forums, and trolling comment sections of YouTube and FaceBook, they are literally creating the atmosphere they are now pretending to fight against.
And such a bonus that this site did a good job help point out and highlight a beam of truth on Wargaming of not being on the list, and why ** wink ** ?
